Up at the crack of dawn, we had a few hours to explore before returing our rental.
Andy wanted to find the mouth of the Nosara River, where he would like to fish for snook. We returned to Playa La Palada via a much more challenging route. Saw some amazing structures including the mosquelike hotal between out beach and La Palada. Thought the gates were open into the hotel, it was pretty dealpidated looking and sparsely furnished. I didn't see a soul. The only reasons I think it may be opeational is that there were a couple of cars parked out front and the pool looked well maintained.
No river mouth. So off to LaGarta Lodge, where Pam said we could access the river. Up very steep and rutted roads we found the lodge, perched far above the river. It is next to Beverly Kitson's house, where we had sunset cocktails 15 years ago. The view is amazing.
The breakfast was just as breathtaking.
We will return for a dawn nature walk with Gabriella and breakfast with al our out of town visistors.
